so much even now.
Age && Birthday: 19 && August 31
Blood: Less than half
Previous House: Hufflepuff
Employment: Working in a muggle book store.
Appearance.
Eye Color: Hazel green
Hair Color: Dark sandy brown
Height && Weight: 6’2” && 290(lbs.)
General Description: Chris stands at 6'2". He is built like a quidditch player. And what I mean by that is that he is built for the beater position. Yet he no longer plays the game, for medical reasons. He has dark sandy brown hair and is kept neat, but not to short. His eyes are a lovely shade of green hazel. Though he was raised as a wizard, Chris prefers to dress as a muggle. He has tan skin, from being out in the sun for hours on end. Chris has two scars. One is on the bottom of his right knee, and is shaped like a star. He doesn't like to talk about it thought. He got it from his father. The other scar can be found on the inside of his left wrist. That was from when Chris tried to kill himself. *Look in History for the full story*
Personality.
Overall Personality: Chris is fairly easy-going. He doesn't like to fight and tries to get out of any fight, by any means. But if he has to, Chris will fight. He can stand his own ground. Thanks to his childhood and mainly his father. Though, if told to pick between running like hell and fighting to the death . . . nine out of ten times Chris will choose to run like hell. That tenth time will have to be if he is face-to-face with Andrew. Chris would never back down from that fight. He has been dreaming of that day ever since he was a third year.
Other than that Chris is laid back. He mainly just goes with the flow, and doesn't really complain about how life is really unfair to him. He leaves that up to Timm. Chris loves to just sit back and watch the world go by. He isn't to brother by the thought that people can carry on without him. Instead, he would much rather use his time to better himself, by reading a new book on charms, and just waiting for the right moment to attack. Chris is the quite one. The one to stand back when more than three people are talking. Where Timm would be the one to just jump in and start talking over everyone else, mainly if he knows that Chris has something to say. Though once someone is Chris' friend, they are a friend for life, unless they do something to really piss him off. And in order for Chris to stop talking to a person he's known for more than a year would take a lot. Something like someone to threaten the life of Timm or Vie. For that, Chris would tell that person that if they ever even thought about acting on their words, there would be hell to pay, and they would also be losing a great friend at the same time.
Likes && Dislikes: He likes playing quidditch and working at the muggle book store. He likes being outdoors, and being around the people he loves. The smell of smoke, from a camp fire, dust, from old books, broom varnish, and breakfast meats, any kind, are some of Chris' favorite smells. The feel of jeans fresh from the dryer, a cat's purr, and the smell of fresh coffee in the morning, are just a few more things Chris Free likes. He likes the color pink, but doesn't wear it as much as he would like to. Owning to the fact that he doesn't want to people to start asking questions and assume things.
He dislikes the fact that Andrew is still a free man, when so many people know that he killed his wife. He also dislikes Andrew because of his childhood. His scars, and the healers telling him he shouldn't play Quidditch anymore, are just a couple more of dislikes for Chris. He dislikes the colors dark green and sliver together, It reminds him of Slytherin, and of Andrew. Something Chris tries to forget as much as he can get away. At times he dislikes being gay. *Look at history for the full story.* The fact that he seem to have lost parts of his childhood, thanks to the last real game of Quidditch he played, way back in Hogwarts, which was about four years ago. The things he has forgotten weren’t anything big, thanks to Timm telling him that, but it still bugs Chris that he can’t remember them anymore.
Interests && Hobbies: Quidditch is an interest and hobby for Chris Free. Some of his interests are the same as some of his hobbies. So, for the few that seem to be both . . . Camping, fishing, and gardening. A few other interests could be his love for muggle books, any kind really.
Strengths: Learning from his past. Being protective over Vie, since she is the youngest and the only girl. Believing in the better good. Chris also will stand up for whatever he believes in, strongly. Two classes Chris was really good was Herbology and Potions. He really loved those two classes when he was back in Hogwarts.
Weaknesses: Falling onto some old bad habits. Feeling like he is useless at times. Another weakness for Chris would be not being able to believe in himself. Thinking he's not worth anybody's time. Not being able to trust a lot of people, thanks to the one boyfriend he did have. (When he was back in school.) Chris also blames himself for his mother's death. He feels like if he had gone out sooner to look for her, she might have made it out alive. And Chris thinks he'll never meet anyone, who would want him . . . just for him.
Secrets: He is gay, and only his younger sister knows about it. He longs to have a wand-to-wand dule to the death
with Andrew. He keeps up to date with new spells all the time, so he can be ready at any moment. No one knows this little secret.
Boggart: His father, finding out that Chris wants a dule to the death. Andrew agreeing to it, and killing Chris without a second thought, to only go on and kill Timm and Vie.
Patronus: A baboon.
Overall Personality: Chris is fairly easy-going. He doesn't like to fight, and tries to get out of any fight, by any means. But if he has to, Chris will fight. He can stand his own ground. Thanks to his childhood and mainly his father. Though, if told to pick between runing like hell and fighting to the death . . . nine out of ten times Chris will choose to run like hell. That tenth time, will have to be if he is face-to-face with Andrew. Chris would never back down from that fight. He has been dreaming of that day ever since he was a third year.
Other than that Chris is laid back. He mainly just goes with the flow, and doesn't really complane about how life is really unfair to him. He leaves that up to Timm. Chris loves to just sit back and watch the world go by. He isn't to brother by the thought that people can carry on without him. Parents && Siblings: Mother: Samantha Marie Free -36- *DEAD*
Father: Andrew Douglas Free -40- *UNKNOWN*
Brother: Timothy Douglas Free -19-
Sister: Vivian Marie Free -16-
Character History: Christopher and Timothy Free were born to Samantha and Andrew Free on August 31. Chris came out first and after ten minutes Timm joined his brother in the big cold world.
On the outside the Frees seemed like a normal wizard family. No one ever knew the truth. For as long back as he can remember Chris remembers his parents fighting. Fighting all the time, over any and every little thing. Money, why Andrew wasn't home as much as he use to be, what he did when he was away . . . the list went on and on. Chris remembers the fighting more than Timm does. He doesn't know why he does. And at this point in his life, he doesn't want to know. The only time he can recall them not doing so, was the short nine months before Vie was born. That was Chris and Timm were around four years of age.
Vie was born, it went back to how it always was. And Chris always told himself that when he was old enough, he was going to get the hell out of that house, and take Vie with him. Since their father seemed to like to go after her the most.
Maybe it was the fact that she was female, or maybe it was just that she was the youngest. Chris didn't know back then, and to this day he still doesn't know.
The reason for the scar on his right knee is fairly simple, yet at the same time painful for Chris to talk about. It was the first time Andrew struck any of his children. And Chris thought for the longest time, that if his mom had been smart she should have left him right then and there. Looking back, Chris now knows that she couldn't have. And he almost understands that. It doesn't mean he likes it any more or less. But back to the first scar.
Chris was about eight, which means Timm was the same age and Vie was nearly five. Vie had been running through the house, laughing, since Chris and Timm were chasing her. They didn't know Andrew had come back, after being gone for almost a week that time. He was in his room, trying to sleep. Vie had slipped when she was going around a corner, and in turn started to cry. Since she had hit her head on the wall. Andrew came tearing out of his room, with a look none of his children had ever seen in his brown eyes before. Right away he looked at Vie, who was still sitting on the floor, crying. Timm had gone over to
her, wrapped an arm around her and was trying to get her to calm down. But she wasn't having it. Their mother had gone out, to do some shopping. All little Vie wanted was her mom, to make everything better. Vie and Timm didn't see Andrew at first, but Chris did. And he stepped in front of his brother and sister. He was hoping that Andrew would tell them to go outside, or something like that. Yet he grabbed Chris' upper left arm, shook him a few times while yelling all sort of things at the three of them. That only made Vie cry even more. Chris told Timm to take Vie back to their room, and he did . . . without a question. Both twins knew that something was going to happen, and it wasn't going to be nice.
Andrew kept on shaking Chris, hitting him against the wall a few times also. After feeling like he had gotten his point across, he in turn threw his oldest through the nearest doorway and headed back to his room. Chris was unlucky; the room his father had thrown him into was the kitchen. He was wearing shorts, since it was in June. His knee hit a corner of a cabinet, cutting a small gash into it. Chris quickly learned not to yell out in pain, or to cry. He didn't make a sound as he looked down and saw his knee bleeding. At first he thought it was a lot worse than what it turned out to be. So being the smart one, Chris grabbed a few dish towels and headed for his and Timm's room. Once he got in there, he shut the door and sat against it. From there he tied the two dish towels together, and tied them around his knee. As soon as Vie saw the blood, she was even more worried about her "biggest" big brother. She climbed off the bottom bunk and ran over to Chris.
The three children sat in the room, with their backs against the door until their mother came home about an hour later. Timm left the room, and told their mother that Chris was bleeding, and might need to go to the hospital. That scared Samantha, so she quickly went into the room, to check in on Chris. She took one look at the knee, bite back her sigh and took her three kids to St. Mungo's, to have Chris' knee healed. That is the story behind the first scar. That would be the first of many trips to the wizarding hospital for the three young Frees.
Many things happened during their childhood that would have scared any other child. But for Chris and Timm, they didn't know it could be any different.
As for the second scar on Chris that, again, is a touchy subject for him. He was about fifteen at time, and it happened during the school year. He had made his move on another male he knew to swing his way, but the guy shut him down before Chris could even get the question out. That wasn't the first time he was shut down, and after the last one, he couldn't take it anymore. He didn't talk to anyone for three weeks, just did his work, even the extra stuff, in all his classes and stayed in his dorm. Timm was starting to get worried, since they had never gone longer than five hours talking to each other, besides when they had to be in their dorms for the night. So Timm slipped out of his house, and went in search of a Hufflepuff that could go get his brother for him.
He finally was able to find a Hufflepuff, yet ended up not needing anyone to go into the house for him. For he had found Chris, but not the way he had hoped for. He was slipped into the nearest bathroom, when he had heard footsteps. It took a few seconds, but Timm noticed that the bathroom was darker than normal, even for the late hour of the night. He pulled out his wand, lit the tip, held it above his head and looked around. The picture that his eyes saw scared Timm bad. So bad in fact, that for the first few minutes he couldn't do anything. What he saw would forever be burned into his mind, filed under things he never wanted to see. He saw Chris lying on the floor, his left hand stretched out above his head. When Timm looked a bit closer he noticed that there was blood coming that wrist. And a small knife in Chris' right hand.
He just stood there, even after his wand fell out of his right hand, and landed loudly on the ground. That's when Chris moved and Timm knew his twin wasn't dead just yet. He didn't know long Chris had been there, but right then it didn't matter right then. He was to do everything he could to save his stupid brother's butt (and the rest of him).
With that sliver of hope in his heart, Timm tore out of the bathroom and down the hallway, hoping for once to find someone. He happened across another prefect. He told the Ravenclaw to get a teacher, and to meet him in the bathroom nearest the Hufflepuff house. And Timm took off once more, back to his brother. Chris had to spend a few days in St. Mungo's, after that. And for someone reason, Chris doesn't even know why, no matter what the healers tried, every charm, potion, or whatever, nothing helped. There was still a scar there. Chris believes the scar is still there, to remind him of what NOT to do ever again.
Even though many different healers have told Chris to not play quidditch, he took that he just shouldn't play as a pro. He still gets together with his friends every once in a while and play a game or two. Though, lately he hasn't had the time.
Now for the reason behind that. Chris played beater on the Hufflepuff team from his second year up till his fifth year. Being a beeter, Chris has had a lot of balls thrown at his head. Most of which, hit the back of the head, some the face.
He was told not to play half way through his fifth year. Chris felt that all he had to live for was Quidditch, So to hear that, was a major blow to him.
He came out to Vie when he was around the age of 15. To put it in one way, a lot happened to Chris when he was only 15. That was the first time Andrew up and left his family for more than four days. He was gone for almost two months. Samantha was about to go down to the Ministry, fearing what might have happened to him, when Andrew walked through the front door and headed straight for his bed. That was the first of many times that Andrew would be out for many days, and manage to come home just before Samantha would head down to the Ministry, only to head to his bed, and sleep for the next few days.
While the twins were in their fifth year, Vie was just a second year. A second year that always seemed to be getting into trouble or finding herself being cornered by some stupid Slytherins. Chris and Timm both spent most of that year, saving their sister's butt, from being hexed. The rest of his fifth year moved on, without much else happening.
He didn't moved out of his parent's house until he was 18. It wasn't that he didn't have a job; it was more along the lines that Chris wanted to make sure his mother and younger sister were going to be fine without him there.
Once he moved out, Chris moved deep into Muggle London, knowing it was the best place to be. Since Andrew would rather be killed slowly than have to go that deep into "that filthy place".
For the next few months, everything seemed to be going fine. Chris and Samantha talked a few things over, and they both thought it would best if Vie would stay at Chris', when she came back from school for a holiday. This turned out to be nearly every chance she got. Towards the end of her fifth year, Chris pulled Vie out of Hogwarts, fearing for her safety.
That only lasted for about three weeks. After that, Chris knew it was even worse for Vie to be around his flat, and just be walking around London. He managed to get her back into Hogwarts, using their last name in a way he never wanted to do. He was at the finale battle, and was a little shocked that Andrew wasn't there, fighting for what he thought was right. That didn't stop Chris from fighting. He fought for a brighter future, mostly for Vie, as well as a chance to live a some-what normal life, for once.
Since he left for the battle in the middle of a shift, he was more than a little shocked when he went back, to talk to his boss, and found out he still had a job at the little bookstore. He had been worried that he would be out of luck, owning to how he had left. Without a word to anyone else, he ran out of the back store room, told his boss some kind of lie about Vie, and was out the door before his boss could figure out what Chris had just said.
The only thing that had saved Chris his job, was the simple fact that he had never called in sick to work, or had been late before. He had not been able to make it to work two times before, but Chris had managed to find someone to take his shift. Both times were because of Vie. She had had a couple of big dreams, and in turn couldn't sleep. The first time Vie had dreamed that Andrew came back and first Killed Chris, while he was walking to work, and then came to finish Vie off. She didn't want Chris to leave her sight for the whole day. The second time was also because of a dream. A dream worse than the first one. In that one, Vie saw every step, and every movement as Andrew hunted down first Timm, then Chris and lastly her. She wouldn't let either brother out of her sight for three days after that one.
Ever since Vie first told him she was having weird dreams, Chris had been worried about his only sister. He didn't want Andrew finding out. He knew the older male would use that against the young female, and Chris wouldn't let that happen. Not as long as he was around and alive to keep it from happening. As for why Chris doesn't like being gay at times, that's easy to answer. He has seen other wizards, and even helped a few of them come out, and most people didn't like it. So much in fact, that they flat out refused to go in any shops those wizards happened to be at the time. Chris knows he could stand it, but he doesn't want that to happen to Vie, just because of him.
So, with that thought in mind, he keeps all that to himself. He only wants Vie to have a normal life as she can, giving what has happened to her life so far.
Hallows.
Something Unique: Besides the fact that he is gay . . . ?
Role Playing Sample: Chris started to climb down the ladder he was on, when a customer walked up.
"Excuse me," She began.
It was almost the end of his shift, and the only thing Chris really wanted to do right then was go home and check up on Vie. He had been worried about her actions as of late. Out of the three, he knew she took it the hardest when she heard their mother was kiiled.
The customer had to try to get Chris' attention three more times before he looked down.
"How can I help you?" He asked, stepping down a few more steps.
Being on ladders really bugged him. Being on a broom was one thing. But to have to climb up and down a thin piece of wood more than ten times a day got to Chris after the first month he started working.
It wasn't like he was scared of being on such a thing, he just didn't trust it. That was all.
"I was hoping you could help me find a book?"
The words floated somewhere near the back of his mind. He couldn't place them with anyone he knew and almost put them to the side, when he remembered he was with a customer still.
"I'm really sorry about that. Do you know the name of the book?"
A lot of people tend to come in to the store, explain the cover art of a book someone once showed them, and somehow thing that whoever they happened to find first would be able to just turn around and happen to have the right book behind themselves.
"I can't remember the name. . ." The woman begain.
"Okay. That's easy to fix." Chris said, as he finished climbing off the ladder, "Was it a child book?" She shook her head, "Murder?"
Another shake, "Maybe it could have been young adult?"
The woman thought that over for a bit, and then slowly nodded.
"Yes, that could be true." She added slowly.
"Okay. I'll show you where our young adult section is. And if you still can't find it, just call someone over and I'm sure they will be able to help you."
He walked her over the area she needed and gave her a nod.
"Just remember to call if you need anything. Someone will be around to help you."
"Thank you young man."
*Young man?* He thought, walking off, *You couldn't have been much older than me.*
He stole a glance at a clock and grinned. He had enough time left on his shift to walk to the back room, at his own pace and clock out.
*Another day, another pound.* He thught, with a slight shrug.
