This is a very special 'of the' in celebration of our one year anniversary.

For the last year we've had the otM competitions, which have done well in my opinion. I know that it's been a while coming to get the money out to the adults who won, but the house points have been pretty good. However, there won't be many points for the member of the year. Instead, they will win a very special prize that we will discuss once the competition is over.

So, yeah, it's time for a once-a-year competition! Is there someone you feel has been doing an exceptional job here at H&H? Posting with as many people as they can, being super cheery to others, just being an-all around awesome person? Have they been doing it for ages and ages?

Time to nominate them for recognition.

You can nominate anyone, even staff, for this, except for myself, Hannah. (If you want to send love my way then drop me a PM. I love those.) They must have been a member for at least three months in order to be nominated, and in order to be voted upon, require three nominations.

The Member of the Year, aside from a special prize, will also receive 10 Karma points and 100 house points or 100 Sickles, depending if they are an adult or student. This will go to the character of their choice.

This is a little different than the regular 'otM' and will stretch out a little bit longer than a normal competition. You should really think about your nominations!

Decided to start this off...

Who? Libby
Why? Had a difficult choice here between Libby and another member, but in the end I felt that she deserved this most. Not only is she an awesome staffie, but Libby has been here since the very beginning; I believe that she reaches the requirements needed. ^-^ All her posts are great, even when she insists on having no muse at times. Whenever Libby posts in the c-box it's always cheery, helpful and cookie related; gotta love the cookies. ;D I think if anyone should win this award, it should be her.

Why? We have a lot of amazing members here but Libby's just something special. She has been here since the beginning, she's active, all her posts are great, she posts quite often, she's helpful, she's kind and she's funny...plus i love her signature. So, even though her name wasn't the only one that popped into my head when I thought about this award, I think Libby really deserves this.

Why? How can I really describe the amount of awesomeness that Libby possesses? I've been rping for almost eleven years now and she's one of the best writers that I've come across. She's always willing to lend a helping hand whenever you need her and is such a great person to talk to whether it's via pm or in the c-box. On a more personal note, she's helped me through so much this year that I honestly couldn't imagine nominating anyone else for an award like this.

Who? Bellatrix Lestrange
Why? As much as I love Libby <3, I think Bella deserves this award because she has been there since the beginning of the site. She's been amazing and made me enjoy playing the "evil" Lisa while it lasted for Miss Turpin. Even though she's gone sometimes, she has amazing replies and the way she plays Bella makes you really believe you are face to face with Voldemort's most loyal follower. Also, Bella is a very friendly member and I think she really deserves this award. She meets the requirements and soars beyond the standards.

Who? Ari.
Why? Have you met the girl? I mean, come on. She's always friendly, constantly talking in the cbox, welcoming members and helping when they ask for it. On top of that, she's a really good writer, and her characters are always fun to roleplay with. She's very active, at least checking in once every single day, and on top of a busy real life schedule and owning her own site, she admins here too! The girl is super woman, I tell you...

This was a great and long deliberation on my part. I've been thinking about this for the last month.

Why?
Of all the members I've ever had, Nat has been the one who has improved the most. I remember back in the day when she was posting the minimums only, and struggling to get a grasp on the finer points of English grammar. Now, she's teaching others how to post, how to make their writing immaculate, and that is the best thing I think I've ever seen in any member. She's smart, funny, and has also been a very supportive staff member. She and I have slowly become better friends over the year as well, and it's very nice to know that she's been there for me through thick and thin. I only hope that in another year, through another slew of thick and thins, that she and I will still be as chummy as we are now, and that she'll again be at the top of my list for MotY.

Why? It took me a long time to come to a decision on this, because there are so many people who are worthy of the award, but Ari was the one that stood out for me. She's been here since the beginning and I think that she's very worthy of this award. She really is an all-round awesome person; she's great fun to talk to OOC and in the cbox, and is always friendly and helpful to both new and old members. She is also a great and active RPer, I love reading her posts and she plays the best Harry I've seen in the time I've been RPing trio's era Harry Potter. <3

And although she can't be nominated for the award, I just want to say a huge thank-you to Hannah for everything she's done for the site over the year. There's a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes that most people don't see, and she truly is dedicated to the site; without her, we wouldn't be here, one year on. Added to that she's a great writer, very friendly and funny and one of the best friends I've had. So, thank you, Hannah. <3

Hard to choose one. I had a few people in mind who all deserves it.

Why? Where to start, where to start.. Hmm.. Well! She is the best Harry Potter RP'er I've ever seen. She has done JKR proud, I'm sure. Her posts are wonderful and she captures the true self centered Potter. Besides from her writing talents I'll of course mention her wonderful personality. She is funny, kind, smart, plus a lot of other flattering adjectives. If you don't know how much I value you, you do now! -Sniffsniff- This is going all sentimental now. I hope Harry Potter gets eaten by a giant spider! There, set the tone.. Anyways, she deserves the award for her greatness.

Why? Arrgggh this was a really hard choice considering I wanted to mention Hannah and Ari and Bella too but >.< I'll stick with Libby and I say this because of the work I've seen her done with Libby. Most people can't make an OC such an integral part of the plot and do it well and believeably. She has developed Libby to the point I bet she'd know Libby's fave ice cream flavor if I asked. I love how much effort and work she puts into her charies.

Not to mention how much work she's done for the site. I don't know about you all but I've read some of those apps and I'm not sure how she manages to respond to some of them and know what to say to help people improve. XD

She's done so much for the site and not just that but always been around despite her own RL problems and sometimes being sick and/or not feeling well. She's amazing and so kind to everyone who comes across her no matter what. Libby really deserves to be MotY

Well, Ari and Libby have already been nominated. And I can't nominate Hannah. So:

Why? Chelly. Chelly. Chelly. Uh, why shouldn't I pick her? She's absolutely amazing, her characters are amazingly interesting, and she's been one of my closest friends for a long long long time. Even before this site. But I love her to death and she absolutely deserves this.

Why? This was so hard to vote for, because so many people deserve this. But I think Nat is really deserving of this award. She was supportive of the site from the very beginning and has always been a really active staff member. I absolutely adore her Theo (although Harry feels differently), and I think she plays him awesomely. Not mention, she's improved so much over this past year. Her grammar is better than mine! Her posts are always detailed and really capture Theo's emotion. I think it's pretty obvious how much we love her by the way we freak out when Nat's in the cbox. Darn timezone differences! Nat has done so much behind-the-scenes stuff for the site and she's a fantastic member!
