AND HE SAYS, "Nothing I'm going to say is accurately going to do Laurie justice, and for a while I toyed with the idea of saying nothing at all, but then of course I realized I owe her way too much to just pretend that there's not the slightest thing I can say to show her exactly how much she means to me. I realize I've done some stupid things in the past year, and probably generated a lot of hate, much deserved hate, and I honestly wish I could come up with some excuse for what I did, but there really isn't one. Perhaps it's best to just explain everything that happened. Laurie was my first girlfriend. My first real girlfriend. It took me a really, really long time to get up the nerve to ask her out, and when I finally did, I was terrified that she would say no. Foolish me, of course, I go and get a little too comfortable with the fact that I can actually get a girl, and from there things started to spiral out of control. Through no fault of Laurie's. I was happy with her, I really was, but once I got the idea in my head that I could have other girls, and some boys, well, that was it. I just sort of drifted away from her and soon enough I was flirting with Daphne, and Drake, and Liberty, and then I just didn't see Laurie the same way anymore, which is really a pity because she was such a wonderful girlfriend and my closest friend. I'm terrified that I hurt our friendship which would make sense, but I intend to keep her as a friend just as I did before we were dating. She's always been a goof, and she's not afraid to get into trouble with me which is something that I have always admired about her. Laurie is probably the best match I could find out there, and maybe sometime in the future, when we've had sufficient time to cool off, we could give it a try again. I have no doubt that Laurie is going to be a remarkable witch."
AND LAURIE REPLIES, "Nazim is probably the best or one of the best guys I've ever met. I've never known anyone like him, and he was one of the first guys I've ever fallen for. He was only the second boyfriend I've ever had and I feel like I connect with him really well. Well, I know I do. We were together for a while, and I was happier than I'd been in a while, but our relationship kind of changed after a while. Naz was more distant and I found out he'd been cheating on me. I wasn't mad, not really. I was only sad, and I wondered why, but I know people do make mistakes, so I forgave him for it and we're still friends. Good friends. And I want it to stay that way. I won't lie and say I don't still have feelings for him, but even if we're not together, being friends is better than nothing, because I wouldn't like it very much if I couldn't see him at all. I still spend a lot of time with him, whenever he can get away from the common room and I've gotten used to him acting like he hates me when the other Slytherins are around. I mean, what else is he going to do? And another thing is, Nazim means a lot to me. I guess I've already explained that, but I feel like he knows me more than anyone else. I don't have many friends since I like to be alone most of the time, and he's one of the only ones I can be myself around. And even though I'm a prefect, I still like to goof off and do stupid things with him when we're alone. I know if I'm caught I could get my badge taken away from me, but it doesn't matter much to me. I like to have fun with Nazim, and he's the only one I stuff like that with anyway. Most of the time I do everything I'm told and don't do anything wrong, but when I'm with him, it feels like I have this whole other side and I like it. Not saying I'm not a little shy with him still, though, I mean I'll probably always be, but I have to say, I like myself a little more since I met him. Hopefully we'll always be friends, and maybe sometime in the future we could try a relationship out again. Only if he wants to, though. I'm not going to bring it up."
