Had anyone noticed the differences between the death eater masks in goblet of fire and the death eater masks in order of the phoenix? I thought it was interesting because if they were followers of Voldemort don't you think their mask might have been almost the same all the time or am i just overthinking this? Can someone help explain why the obvious differences?

Well, the simple explanation would be that the people on the movie decided that the death eater look needed to change into something more.. non-halloweenish/pro looking/terrifying even. Personally I think that the first one looks like a mask from the game Zelda or just a kids mask.
But maybe there is an actual development in the death eaters appearance although I don't remember any of the sort being described in the books. If you think about it, in the fourth film Voldemort hasn't been at his full power, no? Sooo when Voldie returns the death eaters are back in their worst regime yet! Their look is a bit outdated since the last time Voldie was 'human' (not a ugly floating head) was years ago. It could be that the new mask/robes are better, more protecting or just a simple change of style reflecting the new dark period.
Just some thoughts.
