because i love you all!
as many of you know, mipie is in senior year. am no genius. it's quite normal to be a senior at fifteen here. xD and it. is. killing. me. slowly. my physics teacher is out to drink my blood and devour my soul. accounting, statistics, physics are the most evil subjects ever. NOT ONLY THAT. but i've been taking a lot of college entrance exams. i just took my exams at the University of the Philippines & Ateneo de Manila University which are two of the three "Ivy" league schools in my country. results come out on january/february so wish me luck! i just finished my exam last saturday in Assumption College and i got in, yay! but i would still loveloveLOVE to get into a uni. anyway. senior year is literally eating me alive but since the schedule is slowly dimming down since the first semester is almost over, i get to poof back like woah and be annoying because i'll be all over the place. xD
other much more serious news.

Typhoon victims in Philippines in dire need of food/clothing and rescue. Call the American Red Cross to help. 1-800-435-7669
Last saturday, September 26 2009, the biggest storm to ever hit the Philippines came. The flood waters are reaching 9 feet high in some areas and only the Lord knows why I have electricity and internet connection at my house right now. There are cars that are floating. Women and children are stranded at local malls and in their houses. People are on their rooftops and the flood waters there reach them. I was stranded at a local college that day due to the insanely bad weather. I was there to take my entrance exam, which I passed on lighter news. There are people drowning, dying everything. Children, parents are missing. Dams are breaking. I know I'm not a very prayerful person but it's like a Bible message all over. Please, the only thing I ask is to spread the news, call the American Red Cross if you can but most of all... please. Pray for my people. Pray for those who are trapped. Pray for those who are missing. Since H&H is practically global, hopefully I'm helping my country by raising global awareness? Please. Pray for my people. There was actually a girl who was on her roof in labor during the storm. There's this woman whose six kids are still missing. Polluted lakes are overflowing and everything is just a disaster. I'm just a little girl but maybe by spreading alertness about the topic will make some sort of difference. Every prayer counts. Every thought counts. Just please.
Thank you. <3

the american navy came today with a lot of rubber boats to help those who are still stranded because there are a lot of people like that right now. the flood has died down in some urban areas but in some of the most affected places namely Rizal, Quezon, Taft, etc.. flood waters are still rising. what's really insane is that there is another storm approaching us within one to two days. thousands upon thousands of people are missing, most of them are children and their parents are desperate to find them. they've been missing since saturday and it really is just heartbreaking to hear and see it. it's even more heartbreaking to be a an actual victim on it. to feel the water getting higher and higher and the panic just building inside yourself with some voice inside your head telling you that this could be the end. in behalf of my people, i thank you all for your kind words and prayers. <3

today PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical & Astronomical Services Administration), in other words the Philippine agency that gives us the weather and stuff like that, detected a Super Typhoon in the Philippine area of responsibility. It entered the country yesterday and it is now making its way to the main capital, Metro Manila which holds a LOT of the Philippine population. Metro Manila is also one of the most affected areas by the recent typhoon (Ketsana). As a matter of fact, a lot of areas are still flooded. This new super typhoon is detected to be much stronger than Ketsana, the local name is "Pepeng". It is a type FIVE Hurricane, the same as Katrina. This is within 6 days of the worst storm in Philippine history. The local power company as alerted the mass that they will be shutting down the power in some areas of the country. The last super typhoon that the Philippines had was hell. Trees and electric posts were uprooted. Roofs were torn apart and hundreds of people were killed. And that Super Typhoon was after a few days of mellow rain. This Super Typhoon was preceeded by the worst rainfall in history of my archipelago. So you can bet that it's only going to get worse. What I ask now are mere things. If you can pledge money to your local red cross to donate to my people, that would be very much appreciated. Relief goods are scarce in my country as it is. Food and clothing would be very much appreciated as well. But if all else fails, please. I beg of you. Pray for my people. Please keep us in your thoughts. The last time my people have faced this kind of travesty was during Spanish take over for 333 years, the 45 years under American rule & the 3 years under Japanese rule. All of those tragedies. The deaths, the corruption, the chaos... everything. Repeated itself within a few days because of a natural calamity. Please, I'm begging you. Pray for my people. Pray for my country. We've been through enough. Surely, you've seen us on the news. On tv, in the newspaper. It's heartbreaking to see it in print right? We're not exactly an industrialized country. We're a third world country for Christ's sake. A dollar can feed three people. It's down right depressing to actually be here. Please. Pray for my people.
Thank you. <3

I actually donated $20 to the red cross yesterday. I asked that it be split between Samoa and the Philippines. The South Pacific is NOT the place to be right now, with all the storms, earthquakes, and massive loss of life.
My thoughts and prayers are with you MiPie. I am glad you got into college, now be safe so you can attend.
I am sorry I didn't respond to this earlier... I've been super swamped with uni myself.

I have no money, so I have nothing to donate. However, all of my thoughts are for you. Which I told you yesterday when you were freaking out. I love you, sweetie. <3
I wish I had some god damn money. =( =)
