The seventh book is being used as canon, with a few exceptions. Members who played characters who were slotted to die in the seventh book have the option of keeping those characters. This only applies to characters who were already existing on the site. All other dead characters will remain dead. Warning, spoilers.

Voldemort. It is a name that terrified three generations of the wizarding world. The man behind the name was the most vile and evil creature to inhabit the earth in hundreds and hundreds of years. Death followed the name, pain and suffering too. For over 50 years, Voldemort was the greatest threat to every living being on the planet, and in a flash, that name was ripped from the sky by a mere boy.
Potter. For a very long time, before he ever even knew it, Harry Potter was a famous wizard. He was the Boy-Who-Lived, and he grew up to become the Boy-Who-Lived-Again. A terrible darkness surrounded his whole life, his and everyone else, and it was only he who had the power to bring that darkness to an end. If it had not been for Harry, then who knows where the world might have ended up.
Peace. The war ended very quickly. After Voldemort and the more heavy supporters of his were killed, the remaining Death Eaters gave themselves up very quickly. Of course, the losses were heavy on both sides. Good people were killed also, innocents as well. Too many died in the war, so much senselessness. All that remained at the end was smoke and rubble.
Rebuilding. Those that were left standing put the fallen pieces back together. Hogwarts was rebuilt. The Ministry had a political makeover. All the filth that had been rooted into the laws and ways of life was dug out and tossed in the rubbish bin, and all that remained was a well sanded surface. People seemed happier. More people were smiling, laughing, but inside everyone - and no one was spared - there was an echo of hurt and mistrust.
Dissent. Though the majority of the magical community agreed on the direction in which the new era would take off, there were many who disagreed with the new policies. Those who had supported Voldemort were wholly cut off from any benefits that others could enjoy, and there was a very obvious rift between the old factions. This long-standing hatred could not be helped, but the new laws reflected the change of power, and it did not favor old Death Eaters and supporters.
Chaos. On that fateful day of the Battle of Hogwarts, not all of the Death Eaters were at the school fighting for their Lord... one or two managed to slip away from the fray and wiggle their way into the Ministry. There they ransacked files and took whatever they wished, but most notably, a list of names and addresses. The Muggle-born registry that Voldemort had demanded be put in place was a golden opportunity for these usurpers, and when Voldemort fell a new order arose in his place, to continue in the efforts that Voldemort could not achieve.
Destruction. As the new world began to regrow, the Grendel, as they call themselves, have picked up cautiously where the old scores left off. The precious list of names is the source of all their treachery, as they find and kill those Muggle-born to cleanse the world of impurities. Those who still believe in the old ways are welcomed in, but the Grendel are more cautious and wary now than ever before. With so much evil being stamped out, one could never be too safe...
The lines were drawn decades ago, and the battle is finally over... but where do you stand? Will you rebuild or seek revenge?
