Tanner says, Tanner doesn't know the teen too well. Mostly he has observed Riku from afar. He likes the kid romantically but is basically too cowardly to admit the truth. They had a brief encounter during the war where Tanner was on the verge to revealing his feelings to Riku. He was called away for mission the dark lord wanted done. After the war Tanner went into hiding and hadn't heard from Riku in ages until one day Tanner got the courage to ask riku out for drinks. Tanner hopes with all his heart that possibly Riku would notice him and they would end up together, but he realizes this isn't likely a possibility.
Riku says, "Tanner and I were never all that close in school. He was in many of my classes over the years but we rarely spoke more than a passing "hello" or some other niceties. We met up out of school when I was shopping and got to chatting. When the war ended I didn't hear from him until a while ago and we met up again to catch up. He always seems.. Skiddish around me which is saying a bunch since I run off from things all the time. Hopefully I'll see more of him around. He's fun to talk to."
