I'll go see it if only because I've gone for all the other ones and I'd feel a bit odd if I didn't. To be honest, I never really like the movies, but I'm going to see them eventually, so I might as well see it on a huge screen.
Tom is looking particularly beautiful, so that's a bonus. I'm dreading seeing Lavender on there, though, since she's been Scarlett Johannson in my head for so long that it's going to be odd seeing her as anyone else.

If thats horrible, imagine my disappointment when I (or IF I BOTHER TO) watch the last movie and discover that Percy actually isn't as good looking as Fernando Torres.. -hides face in horror-

I suppose you can be glad that you can always log on and see him in all his amazing glory right here. I'm sure you'll be on the site more than you'll watch the movie anyway!

I'm going to see the movie the day it comes out anyway.
Though it irks me slightly that they can mess movies up so bad.
But I'm seeing it because I've seen every single movie the day it came out, and it will be extremely weird if I don't. Plus, I want to be able to bash the hell out of the movie in a thread I'll be starting on this here site. lol. <3
And let me just say that I love that picture of Emma and Daniel.

I'm with Krissy on three accounts. First of all, I'll see it on opening day like I always do, because that's what I always do. Second of all, I will be in the thread ,bashing it after I see it. And, third of all, that picture with Daniel and Emma? Beautiful.
But, I have to say this, it's been driving me nuts since movie one...
HOW FUCKING HARD IS IT TO POP IN SOME GOD DAMN GREEN CONTACTS?!?!!?
I mean, seriously. His eyes are supposed to be emerald green, which is a big deal because that's a big reason why Snape helped protect Harry, because he had Lily's green eyes. And in the movies, it's quite obvious they're blue. Just drives me crazy. It's a big motion picture, how expensive can some fake contacts be? Gr!!

Actually, I'm not gonna lie. I love the HP movies, and I'll tell you why. The story in parts is omitted, that's very true. But, I hate to say it, the Tonks/Lupin and Bill/Fleur relationships are really only important to those of us who have read the books. The movies are trying to get down to the nitty gritty, which is the trio and the kids at Hogwarts. They're more relatable and interesting to a general audience, because if they suddenly bring in Bill and Fleur and Tonks and Lupin, there're going to be lots of people going "Huh? Who're they?" Which, really, is awful because I love all four of them, but it's the sad truth. You have to admit, though, that each and one of those actors and actresses just embody their characters and no one is misrepresented (except for Dumbledore IMO, but I digress). That in itself is a wonderful thing, really, because the characters really do transfer incredibly well from book to movie thanks to the efforts of such a wonderful cast. I know it may not be the same for some people, but really, the casting is just superb to me. At least those of us who have read the books know about the parts that're omitted, and that's what counts. It's just hard not to defend great scenes like the ones we'll miss when they really make or break the books for us. The people who just see the movies and don't read the books are missing out.

I completely agree. I’m actually very fond of the movies for some reason.
Yes, they might occasionally butcher it *cough*PrisonerOfAzkaban*cough* but really, the movies would be ridiculously long if ALL of the scenes were put in. Not to mention, they really can’t please everyone by cutting one scene, because chances are, there’s just as many people that want to see it stay as there are that want to see it actually cut.
I can’t say that I’ve ever been really displeased with the movies, other than the fact that in OOTP, Rupert & Emma didn’t get as much screen time as their importance in the book needs them to get. After that disappointment, I just sat back and enjoyed the film, and as a whole, I don’t regret going to see it at all! The cast was fantastic, and not to mention the special effects (like the fight between Dumbledore and Lord Voldy) and the locations were just about what I thought they would look like (the Dementor scene in the beginning).
Not to mention, in ALL of the films, they’ve set the mood really well. That way, those who haven’t read the books can keep up and all. For example, we know the initial chaos that took place in the muggle world that was thought to be a force of nature but was really dark magic at work. However, if I had never read the book, and just saw the scene where Fudge meets the muggle PM, I would have no idea what they’re talking about.
Heh; I wish they’d released some stills to do with location and stuff. I really wanted to see a still from the scene where Harry & Dumbledore go and try to retrieve the locket. But hey, even if the movie does come out horrible, I’m going just to see the stills number two and three. XD
I guess I just can’t really find anything to hate about the movies.

simple translation for book and movie DUMBLEDORE. But i personally love the movies. And pshaw, blue eyes or green, Daniel still looks pretty darn delicious. YUM. Although i do love to bash on random things every now and then because well i AM pretty upset about some things. And i agree with Sinead about the whole mood thing. The atmosphere is just there, i can't describe it properly. And personally, i can't wait for the Ron/Lav snog pics to be released. HEEHEEHEE. AND HERE'S A LUNA PIC.

hahah that was funny Mipie.
And Hayley, yes, you have a point. But I have to disagree and say that I absolutely loathe Emma Watson's portrayal of Hermione. She just isn't Hermione to me. The way she acts the character hasn't changed from the first film to the fifth, even to mature. I'm not sure if that makes sense, but I feel like Rupert has done the best job of altering his character to reflect his age. With Watson, Hermione is EXACTLY the same as she was in the first film, which is sad, because they were 11 then. Sometimes I really hate her inflections too. (I think that's the right word? haha).
And I'm on board the "down with Gambon" train. He hasn't read the books, for pete's sake, so how can he expect to portray Dumbledore correctly? The old Dumbledore was fantastic; grandfatherly, yet at the same time with a subtle power. Gambon's portrayal is just awful. And that scene that mipie pointed out in GoF was poor writing. Remember, HP script writers. You must ask yourself this question: What Would Dumbledore Do?

Lmao, WWDD.
I am severely disappointed in the movies for the simple fact that I've seen some long books like HP expanded into film and seen all the details and all the scenes kept. It's called a TV mini series people! Pride and Prejudice was a multi-million dollar show, was cast perfectly, even after a film had already been made.
What I am trying to say is, give me a small budget, some crack computer nerds, a few cameras and lights, and I'll direct a mini series that will not only have the perfect actors for every role - because even if the people in the movie seem perfect, there is always someone better - not just a few here and there. It'll be shown over seven years, will probably take about 8 to shoot, and will be more like a Lost-styled show rather than a mini-series, but done in parts for TV to cover all the scenes, all the relationships, I think it would be better.
And that's my opinion. I hate it when books are poorly translated to movies, like Ella Enchanted was. The book by itself is great, and the movie by itself is great, but the movie is not the book in movie form, but an 'adaption' and that is what I feel like the HP movies are. They're not the actual story line, but an adaption of the story, so that they can do things differently than the books says. And you can argue setting, but when you see Ella Enchanted, or the Kiera Knightly version of P&P, that has the right setting for the book too, but it's not the story of the book!
-facepalm-

Agree with Nott...why can't they just put all the good parts in the movie !!! They always put useless parts in the movie...Personally, my dad, NEVER read the books, and he keeps on telling me that HP movies makes no sense...
